Michael Phelps, the most decorated United States Olympian of all time, will see his first action of the USA Swimming Olympic trials on Monday. He is scheduled for five events in the trials, including the 100- and 200-meter butterfly, 100- and 200-meter freestyle and the 200-meter individual medley.
Olympic swimming trials 2016: Time, TV schedule and Monday events for Team USA
Michael Phelps and Katie Ledecky will both be in action for the USA Swimming trials on Monday.

On Monday, that means he’ll be competing in the 200-meter freestyle preliminaries and semifinals, with the finals set at a later date. The trials are being held to determine the swimmers who will represent the United States in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics and began on June 26. They will run through July 3.
Of the other “big four” competitors for the United States -- Ryan Lochte, Missy Franklin and Katie Ledecky -- only one other will be competing on Monday. That would be Ledecky, who has entered into a total of five events, including the 50-, 100-, 200-, 400-, and 800-meter freestyle events. On Monday, that means she’ll be competing in the 400-meter freestyle preliminaries and finals.
Monday’s events will get underway at 11 a.m. ET and will consist of three separate blocks. That first event will contain only prelims and will run about three hours. The second block will also contain prelims and will run from 6:30 p.m. through 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on NBCSN. The third block will run from 8 p.m. to approximately 9:20 p.m. and will be broadcast on NBC.
A live stream of all three blocks will be available via NBC Sports, with links below.
