Olympics swimming trials 2016 live stream: How to watch Team USA tryouts online

Both the women’s and men’s 100-meter backstroke finals will be held at the USA Swimming Olympic trials on Tuesday.

The USA Swimming Olympic trials continue on Tuesday, with four finals events and several preliminary events. The men’s 200-meter freestyle and 100-meter backstroke, as well as the women’s 100-meter breaststroke and 100-meter backstroke events will have their finals on Tuesday on top of several semifinals and prelims.

Tuesday’s events get underway at 11 a.m. ET with the first block of prelims, which includes the women’s 200-meter freestyle and individual medley and the men’s 200-meter butterfly. That will run around three hours, with the second block consisting of those same prelims picking up at 7 p.m. for one hour. The first block will only be available via live stream (link below), while the second will have a stream and will be televised on NBCSN.

Finally, the last block will contain the women’s 100-meter breaststroke final and 100-meter backstroke final; the men’s 200-meter freestyle final and 100-meter backstroke final; and a few more semifinals in various events. Those begin at 8 p.m. and will run for a little over an hour, and will be broadcast on NBC and via livestream. The first block will just be available via live stream, and the second will have a stream as well as coverage on NBCSN.

The 100-meter breaststroke event was not a strength for the United States in the 2012 London Olympics, with Cameron van der Burgh of South Africa taking the gold and Christian Sprenger of Australia taking the silver. In a sport that’s dominated by the United States, the bronze medal won by Brendan Hansen in the event was something of a letdown.

Several gold medalists, including Katie Ledecky, Missy Franklin, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, will be in action for various events on the day.
