Soccer player decides to become goalie mid-shot and ultimately costs his team the game

This is one of the best, most unpredictable moments you’ll ever see in a soccer game. Flamengo center-back César Martins thought that his goalie was beaten in a 1-1 game against Palmeiras and decided to take things into his own hands -- literally.

This was awarded a red card, naturally, and Martins was forced to watch from the sidelines as Palmeiras slotted home the penalty to win 2-1. It’s unclear whether the shot definitely would have gone in without Martins’ impromptu goalkeeping, but the camera angle from the back sure looks like it was going to miss.
