US Olympic trials 2016: Time and TV schedule for women’s gymnastics on Sunday

Sunday’s Olympic women’s gymnastics trials will be broadcast by NBC. Simone Biles leads the event after one day of competition.

Simone Biles leads the women’s gymnastics Olympic trials going into Sunday, the final day of competition. Broken up into two days of competition featuring all four events -- the balance beam, floor exercise, uneven bars and vault -- run through on both days, the trials started on Friday and will conclude on Sunday.

Biles has not lost a single all-around competition in the last three years, and she has a full point lead going into Sunday. She will try and hold onto that lead beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET. There will be television coverage beginning at that time by NBC, with a live stream available via NBC Sports.

Biles wasn’t perfect on Sunday, but with the lead she’s obviously starting from a good position. Only the top all-around finisher after two days of competition is guaranteed a spot in the 2016 Rio Olympics. The rest of the spots will be selected by a committee, though the scores from the trials are obviously heavily considered.

With a five gymnast team and each event needing only three competitors from each nation, the top five all-around finishers aren’t automatically qualified. The committee will try and build a team with the fewest weaknesses overall and the most consistency.

Gold medalists from the 2012 London Olympics, Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman, are both participating in the trials on Sunday. Douglas had a fall on Friday and as such is in seventh place after the first day of competition. Raisman is in third, with Laura Hernandez in second.

Below is the information you need to watch the event. Sunday is the final day of the USA Track and Field Olympic trials as well.
