USA Track & Field Olympic trials: Time, TV schedule and events for Sunday
The final day of the US Track and Field Olympic trials is set for Sunday.
Sunday’s track and field events include some of the most important. The women’s 200-meter race is a big one, given the fact that the United States took home gold in it at the London 2012 Olympics. Allyson Felix was the winner of that race for the gold medal, putting up a time of 21.88 seconds, besting Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of Jamaica, who finished in 22.09 seconds.
Felix will be participating in the finals on Sunday after making it past the qualifying and semifinal rounds. The women’s pole vault final is another event that will be on Sunday, and it’s a big one as well. Jenn Suhr of the United States won the event in London and will look to defend her medal if she can advance on Sunday.
The events will be broadcast in two different blocks. The first will include only the women’s pole vault and will begin at 4:45 p.m. ET. That event will run through 6 p.m. and will not be broadcast on television, but a live stream will be available via NBC Sports. The second block begins at 7 p.m. and will consist of the women’s 200-meter race and both the men’s and women’s 1,500-meter race finals.
That second block will be available on NBC. The live stream will be a simulcast of that coverage, beginning at the same time. The broadcast is expected to last until 8:30 p.m.
