The US Track and Field Olympic trials are a thing of the past, with the last of the events held on Sunday. The trials were held to select the competitors in athletics who will represent the United States in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics.
US Track & Field Olympic trial results: Allyson Felix misses out in 200-meter finals on last day of trials
Felix, the 2012 gold medalist in the 200-meter race, will not get a chance to defend her title in Rio.

Sunday featured a full slate of finals events, including the men’s high jump, 400-meter hurdles and 1,500-meter race in addition to the women’s pole vault, 400-meter hurdles, 200-, 1,500 and 5,000-meter races.
Perhaps the most significant result on the day was the women’s 200-meter race, which ended with Allyson Felix outside of the top three, meaning she will not run the race in Rio. Felix has three Olympic medals in the event, including the gold medal from the 2012 London Olympics. She finished fourth on Friday, just .01 seconds behind the third-place finisher, Jenna Prandini.
Tori Bowie won the race in 22.25 seconds and will run the race alongside the 100-meter race in Rio. Deajah Stevens was in second place just .05 seconds back of Bowie. Felix will still be competing in Rio, but in the 400-mete race. She prefers the 200-meter but was dealing with a right ankle sprain throughout the trials.
Jenn Suhr, the defending Olympic champion in the women’s pole vault, qualified on top on Sunday and will make another trip to the Olympics. Sandi Morris and Alexis Weeks will also advance in the event. In the men’s high jump, Erik Kynard, Kyle Landon and Bradley Adkins will be representing the United States after grabbing the top three spots on Sunday.
The men’s 400-meter hurdles wrapped up with Kerron Clement, Byron Robinson and Michael Tinsley taking the top three spots. Clement finished with a time of 48.50 seconds. Robinson was just behind at 48.79 seconds and Tinsley came in at 48.82 seconds. Matthew Centrowitz, Robby Andrews and Ben Blankenship qualified in the men’s 1,500-meter race, leaving 2012 Olympian Leonel Manzano just outside of the top three.
The final two races were the women’s 1,500-meter, where Jenny Simpson, Shannon Rowbury and Brenda Martinez advance to Rio and the women’s 5,000-meter, which ended with Molly Huddle, Shelby Houlihan and Kim Conley taking the top three spots.
