Stage 21 in Paris hasn’t been relevant towards the yellow jersey since the days of Bernard Hinault and Greg LeMond, but it is always necessary viewing during the Tour de France. After three weeks of racing, fans and riders alike have a right to revel in the incomprehensible thing that just took place. Chris Froome and Team Sky will take their much deserved sips of champagne -- Froome possibly on a well-stitched knee -- then enjoy a fun sprint on the Champs-Élysées.
Tour de France 2016 live stream: Time, TV schedule and route for Stage 21
Stage 21 of the 2016 Tour de France is all about Chris Froome, champagne and the Champs-Élysées.

The stage will begin just north of Paris in Chantilly at approximately 10:35 a.m. ET. Riders will begin the Champs-Élysées circuit at the 57th kilometer and do eight loops before the top remaining sprinters put themselves in position for the grande finale to the finish line 113 kilometers from the start. NBCSN and NBC Sports Gold (subscription required) will both begin their coverage at 10 a.m.
There are no more jerseys up for grabs. After Stage 20’s relative stalemate, Froome will keep the yellow jersey barring a disaster. Peter Sagan and Rafal Majka likewise will win the green and polka dot jerseys, respectively, provided they cross the finish line Sunday.
There is still honor at stake for the likes of Marcel Kittel, Andre Greipel and Alexander Kristoff, however. All three riders entered the 2016 Tour with a plan of racking up stage wins, but were consistently outclassed by Sagan and Mark Cavendish, who left the Tour to get a jump start preparing for Rio.
Bryan Coquard, fourth on the points classification at just 24 years old, is probably the darkest horse with a realistic chance of winning. A second stage win for France in three days would send the country into a jubilation, so root for that if you’re in need of a rooting interest at all. Stage 21 is the most fun you’ll have watching what is essentially a Sunday stroll.
