Awkwardly sandwiched between the Open Championship and golf’s return to the Olympic Games, the PGA Championship might not be on your radar this year -- but it should be! Defending champion Jason Day’s yet to finish under par at a major in 2016, Jordan Spieth’s still trying to recapture last year’s magic after finishing 30th at Oakmont and 37th at Royal Troon, and Rory McIlroy is slowly turning into the Incredible Hulk. Oh, then there’s the last man who won a major at Baltusrol: Phil Mickelson. Surely he’s not motivated after finishing second at the Open Championship with a score of SEVENTEEN UNDER.

This is a tournament built for high-stakes drama, down to the course’s last two holes: both par 5s that played under par when the PGA Championship was played here in 2005. That year, the 18th saw more birdies than every par 3 combined, and 13 of the tournament’s 17 eagles were posted on the final hole.
