Kevin Garnett is overjoyed he found his Celtics shirt while watching ‘The Price is Right’

On a lazy Wednesday in July, Kevin Garnett was watching The Price Is Right, when something on his television caught his eye:

Que? TF...

A video posted by Kevin Garnett (@tic_pix) on

Alright, we should discuss the implications coming from this video.

1. Kevin Garnett is 40 and has had a long storied career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets. You’d be forgiven if you thought he retired already — he hasn’t. Not yet anyway. He’s still with the Timberwolves, but it feels like we know what his retirement plans will be when the time comes: watch The Price Is Right all day, every day.

2. This also seems to have created a heated debate in the Instagram comments on whether Garnett will retire as a Celtic or a Timberwolf. What I’ve learned is that a) Celtics are loud and proud of Garnett forever and b) Gerald Green left a sour taste in their mouths.

Also, so far, there’s just one Timberwolves fan telling everybody “Minnesota is home,” a tiny voice in a sea of passionate Bostonians, like Hans Moleman telling everyone “I was saying ‘Boo-urns.’“ Will Garnett retire as a Celtic? Will he betray Gino Time? I can’t imagine Minnesota will be happy about that, after all the years they’ve been together. But so far, in the Instagram comment battle for KG’s heart, Boston’s winning.

3. The timeline on Garnett’s DVR shows, at the least, he started Wednesday’s episode of The Price Is Right after the 30-minute mark. This might be how you know Garnett’s ripe for retirement. His TV ended up on The Price Is Right during a possible channel surfing session and he didn’t change the channel once. Not that you should skip watching The Price Is Right when you happen upon it. It’s still riveting television. Garnett has good taste in game shows, especially ones with legendary theme songs.
