USA Track & Field Olympic trials: Time, TV schedule and events for Monday

Alysia Montano is one to watch in the 800-meter race finals at the US Track and Field Olympic trials on Monday.

James Lang-USA TODAY Sports

On Monday, USA Track and Field will determine who will represent the United States in multiple events, including the men’s pole vault and javelin throw as well as both the men’s and women’s 800-meter races. It’s worth noting that the US, a country noted for its dominance in Athletics at the Summer Olympics over the years, did not capture a single medal in any of those listed events at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The closest they came was when Duane Solomon finished fourth in the men’s 800-meter race finals. On the women’s side, Alysia Montano finished fifth in the finals of her race. Montano will be in action on Monday though as she tries to take another run at a medal in the event.

Her top competition should be Molly Ludlow and Brenda Martinez, who also finished in the top three of the semifinals alongside Montano.

The race finals for both men and women will be broadcast live on NBCSN, beginning at 7 p.m. ET and running through 9 p.m. Monday will also feature the start of the 3,000-meter steeplechase for both men and women, the women’s triple jump qualifying and the men’s 5,000-meter race first round.

A live stream of the men’s pole vault final will be available via NBC Sports, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The aforementioned men’s and women’s races will also be available via livestream, with a simulcast of the NBCSN network coverage beginning at the same time.

The other events will not be available online, but results are posted at the official website here.
