Olympics trials 2016 live stream: How to watch US Track & Field online

The hammer throw is the only event at the US Track and Field Olympic trials on Wednesday.

After a rest day, the USA Track and Field Olympic trials will continue on Wednesday and the day will be all about a single event: the hammer throw. Both male and female participants will try to see how far they can throw the hammer, which weighs 16 pounds for men and just under nine pounds for the women.

Wednesday’s events begin at 4 p.m. ET and will feature qualifying and finals events for both the men and women. Neither event will be broadcast on television, but NBC Sports will carry a live stream of both, beginning with the women at 4 p.m. through 6:30 p.m. and then again for the men at 8 p.m. through 10:30 p.m. Links for both streams are available below.

The United States did not perform well in the hammer throw at the 2012 London Olympics. On the women’s side, none of them made it past the qualifying round, where the top 12 throwers advance. Tatyana Lysenko of Russia took gold, Anita Włodarczyk of Poland took silver and Betty Heidler of Germany took home bronze.

Two American women, Amber Campbell and Jessica Cosby, finished 13th and 14th in the qualifying round.

On the men’s side, things were only marginally better. Kibwe Johnson made it into the finals after qualifying in fifth place, but he finished the finals down in ninth place. Krisztián Pars of Hungary, Primož Kozmus of Slovenia and Koji Murofushi of Japan took the top spots in the finals, respectively.

The live stream links for both hammer throw events are below.
