Olympics trials 2016 live stream: How to watch US Track & Field online

The track and field trials continue on Friday, and here’s how you can watch them live.

The US Track and Field Olympic trials from Eugene, Ore. will continue on Friday with a full slate of events. The United States has done well with athletics at the Summer Olympics in the past, and they’re hoping for another strong showing at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Competitors will participate in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase and discus throw finals in addition to the women’s 100-meter hurdles finals on Friday. There will also be a full slate of qualifying, first-round and semifinals events, but the finals are the headliners.

Those finals will all be broadcast, with the discus throw on NBCSN first starting at 6 p.m. ET and running about two hours. The men’s steeplechase and women’s 100-meter hurdles finals will be broadcast on NBC, beginning at 8 p.m. and lasting about an hour.

Evan Jager qualified in second place in the steeplechase for the men at the 2012 London Olympics, and Donald Cabral qualified in fourth in another heat. But in the final race, neither managed the podium with Jager finishing sixth and Cabral finishing eighth. Ezekiel Kemboi of Kenya won the event then.

None of the three American men competing in the discus throw that year -- Jason Young, Lance Brooks and Jarred Rome -- managed to qualify for the finals in London. The top 12 finishers in the qualifying round advance, and Young finished at No. 18 overall, the highest for American men that year.

But the women’s 100-meter hurdles went much better for the United States. The US grabbed a silver medal, thanks to Dawn Harper, and a bronze medal, thanks to Kellie Wells, in the event. Lolo Jones, who finished atop her initial qualifying heat, finished in fourth. Sally Pearson of Australia took gold, edging Harper by just .02 seconds.

The full list of events for Friday’s trials are below. Live streams will be available featuring a simulcast of both the NBCSN and NBC coverage, though no other events will be available for viewing streaming or otherwise. Links to the live streams are below.
