Brianna Rollins won the women’s 100-meter hurdles at the US Track and Field Olympic trials on Friday, punching her ticket to the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics. Rollins clocked 12.34 seconds in the race, the second-fastest time this year. American Keni Harrison, the only woman with a better time this year, finished in sixth and did not manage to qualify for Rio.

Kristi Castlin (12.50 seconds) and Nia Ali (12.55 seconds) finished in second and third and will accompany Rollins to Rio. Unfortunately, 2008 Olympic champion and 2012 silver medalist Dawn Harper-Nelson came up short in her bid to make a third Olympics. She ran 13.01 seconds in her semifinal heat, missing a spot in the finals by .01 seconds.

All three going to Rio in the event are first-time Olympians.

Two other events saw their finals on Friday: the men’s discus throw and the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase. Mason Finley, Tavis Bailey and Andrew Evans will be representing the United States in the discus throw. Finley finished in first with a throw of 63.42 meters, Bailey in second with a throw of 61.57 meters and Evans in third at 61.22 meters.

The discus throw was not a strong event for the United States at the London Olympics. Jason Young qualified the highest, in 18th place, which put him well out of the finals. The finals were made up of the top 12 qualifiers, and the winning throw went 68.27 meters, courtesy of Robert Harting of Germany.

In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Evan Jager took the win with a time of 8:22.48. Hillary Bor came in second with a time of 8:24.10 and Donn Cabral came in third at 8:26:37. Jager and Cabral both represented the United States in the event in London, but failed to medal. Jager finished the finals in sixth place with a time of 8:23.87 and Cabral finished in eighth with a time of 8:25.91.
