The USA Track and Field Olympic trials have just two days of events remaining. The trials, held to help select who will represent the United States in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics, have already named over a dozen Olympians since they got underway on June 30.
USA Track & Field Olympic trials: Time, TV schedule and events for Saturday
The USA Track and Field Olympic trials will have their penultimate day on Saturday.
Friday saw Olympians crowned in the men’s discus throw and 3,000-meter steeplechase as well as the women’s 100-meter hurdles. On Saturday, Olympians will be named for the women’s javelin throw and the men’s triple jump, 5,000-meter race, 200-meter race and 110-meter hurdles.
Saturday’s events will include some broadcast by NBC and others available via NBC Sports. On Sunday, the final day of events, another eight events will come to a close.
The events available for viewing on Saturday will be broken into two blocks. The first, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET and running through 8 p.m., will include the men’s triple jump and women’s javelin finals. There will be no television coverage of those events, but NBC Sports will provide a live stream. The second block begins at 8 p.m. and will run for about an hour, and will contain the men’s 110-meter hurdles, 200-meter race and 5,000-meter race finals.
That second block will be televised live on NBC, with a simulcast available via the NBC Sports live stream. The rest of the day’s events, including several women’s heptathlon events, will not be streamed or on television, but results will be posted on the official website here.
