Olympics schedule 2016: Times and TV schedule for Wednesday’s key events

Kerri Walsh Jennings will try to keep her Olympic win streak alive -- and so will USA Basketball when it takes on Australia.

Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson were probably looking forward to a summer without having to deal with Matthew Dellavedova. Instead, they’ll face off with the pesky, problematic and occasionally dirty point guard when USA Basketball plays Australia on Wednesday night at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The Boomers field a team that has seven different players with NBA experience on the roster, but they’re big underdogs against an American team that hasn’t lost in Olympic play since 2004. Australia is led by Dellavedova, a hobbled Andrew Bogut and Spurs guard Patty Mills. All three will have to play their hearts out to pull off the upset in Brazil.

Elsewhere, Kerri Walsh Jennings has never lost a beach volleyball game at the Summer Olympics. She’ll attempt to keep that streak alive when she and 2016 partner April Ross face off against the Swiss duo of Isabelle Forrer and Anouk Verge-Depre.

Four more swimming golds will be awarded on Wednesday, including one of the Games’ premier swimming medals when the men hit the pool for the 100-meter freestyle final at 10 p.m. ET. American Nathan Adrian will try to defend his title after edging out Australia’s James Magnussen by only .01 seconds in 2012. Katie Ledecky will have her opportunity to return to the podium when she takes her spot as part of USA Swimming’s 4x200-meter freestyle relay team.
