Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes, and Klay Thompson were probably looking forward to a summer without having to deal with Matthew Dellavedova. Instead, they’ll face off with the pesky, problematic, and occasionally dirty point guard when USA Basketball plays Australia on Wednesday night at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Team USA returns to the hardwood with its sights set on a third straight win in Rio. Can Australia and its roster of NBA talent derail that streak?
The Boomers will field a team that has seven different players with NBA experience on the roster, but they’re big underdogs against an American team that hasn’t lost in Olympic play since 2004. Australia is led by Dellavedova, a hobbled Andrew Bogut, and Spurs guard Patty Mills. All three will have to play their hearts out to pull off the upset in Brazil.
That’s just one of three games to tip off on day five of the Games. France, led by NBA veterans like Tony Parker, Boris Diaw, Rudy Gobert, and Nic Batum, will try to put a lid on a Serbian team that can heat up from long range at the drop of a hat. Approximately eight hours later, Venezuela and China will battle in a game that pits two teams who were crushed by the United States against each other.
Venezuela kept the U.S. in check early, but ultimately lost in a 113-69 blowout on Monday. The Americans put an even bigger hurting on China, demolishing NBA prospects Zhou Qi and Wang Zhelin in a 119-62 romp. The transitive property suggests a Venezuela win on Wednesday, but these two evenly matched teams should put together a solid showdown on Wednesday night.
