The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio have been a showcase for 19-year-old American swimmer Katie Ledecky, and on Wednesday night her individual brilliance in the pool was on display again when she swam the anchor leg, leading the U.S. women to a gold medal in the 4x200 freestyle relay.

Australia was leading a close race until Ledecky got in the pool and drove home the gold for Team USA, the fifth time in the last six Olympics that the United States has captured gold in this event. Australia won the silver medal, while Canada captured the bronze.
Ledecky has made a name for herself in pulling away from her individual opponents in Rio, winning gold medals in both the 200-meter and 400-meter freestyle, setting a world record in the latter.
Ledecky also captured a silver medal on the 4x100 freestyle relay, with the United States finishing just behind Australia in that event. Ledecky also swam anchor in that event.
