Simone Biles and Aly Raisman joined the pantheon of great United States female gymnasts on Thursday, capturing gold and silver, respectively, in the women's individual all-around competition at the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
Simone Biles, Aly Raisman celebrate a 1-2 U.S. finish in women’s gymnastics

Biles made history with her dominance and captured the gold medal everyone thought she would; she was understandably very emotional when she found out she won.
A U.S. women’s gymnast has captured gold in this event in the last four Summer Olympics, and with Raisman winning the silver medal the United States had the top two finishers for the first time since 2008, when Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson won gold and silver in Beijing.
Raisman had an unforgettable performance in her own right, giving the U.S. a rightful claim to having the two best female gymnasts in the world.
Biles and Raisman celebrated their dominance accordingly.
