How to watch Allyson Felix go for the gold medal in the 400-meter, plus the men’s 800-meter gold medal event and more.

Erich Schlegel-USA TODAY Sports

Allyson Felix had the fastest time (49.67 seconds) in the women’s 400-meter semifinals. Now the 2015 world champion in the event goes for gold in Rio.

Felix has three gold medals as part of Team USA relay teams in the Olympics, and now the 30-year-old American is competing for her second Olympic individual gold. Felix won gold in the 2012 London Olympics in the 200-meter and silver at both the 2004 and 2008 Olympics in the event. Her gold medal in the 400-meter world championship last year came with a time of 49.26 seconds.

In the 800-meter, Kenya’s David Rudisha will attempt to defend his title. However, France’s Pierre-Ambroise Bosse and Algeria’s Taoufik Makhloufi both posted times better than him in the preliminary heats on Sunday.

Spain and Argentina will play each other earlier in the day on the final day of basketball preliminaries before the do-or-die tournament begins. Spain is 2-2 in Group B, while Argentina is atop the group at 3-1.

The men’s pole vault final will happen during prime time on NBC as well, while heavyweight boxers from Russia and Kazakhstan will compete for gold.
