Russia added another gold medal to its count on Monday at the 2016 Rio Olympics, when men’s Greco-Roman wrestler Davit Chakvetadze bested Zhan Beleniuk of Ukraine in the 85kg division finals. The 130kg gold medal match was also held on Monday, featuring Mijain Lopez Nunez of Cuba and Riza Kayaalp of Turkey.

A couple more Greco-Roman gold medals were handed out at the Rio Olympics on Monday.


That match ended in favor of Lopez Nunez, who won, 6-0, via decision by points. Beleniuk and Kayaalp took home silver medals for their countries.
In the 85kg division, Javid Hamzatau of Belarus took down Nikolay Nikolaev Bayryakov of Bulgaria to win the first of two bronze medals. The second bronze medal in the division went to Denis Maksymilian Kudla of Germany, who bested Viktor Lorincz of Hungary. Hamzatau lost his semifinal matchup, while Maksymilian made his way to the bronze medal match through repechage.
For the bronze medal matches in the 130kg division, Sabah Shariati of Azerbaijan took down Eduard Popp of Germany for the first. The second went to Russian Sergey Semenov, who bested Heiki Nabi of Estonia in his match. Semenov came over after a loss in the semifinals, while Shariati moved up through the repechage round.
