Rio 2016 schedule: Times and TV schedule for Day 11’s Olympic events

Gymnastics and track & field will dominate the day at the Rio Olympics.

Gymnastics and track will once again highlight the day’s events at the 2016 Rio Olympics. With swimming -- perhaps the biggest sport at the Summer Games -- essentially wrapped up, the individual gymnastics events and the primary track and field events have taken center stage.

In individual gymnastics events, the men’s high bar and parallel bars, along with the women’s floor routine, will be the ones to watch. Monday saw Simone Biles and Laurie Hernandez of the United States team competing in the balance beam, while Tuesday will feature Biles and Aly Raisman, the gold and silver medalists in individual all-around competition, in the floor exercise.

The gymnastics events will get underway around 1 p.m. ET.

For track and field, medal events will begin bright and early with the men’s triple jump finals and women’s discus finals beginning at 8 a.m. Later in the day, the men’s high jump and women’s 1,500-meter race finals will take place, along with the highly anticipated men’s 110-meter hurdles finals. Those are all the medal events for Tuesday’s track and field.

On the weightlifting front, the big boys -- the super heavyweight division -- will have medal matches, which should be a sight to see. Below is a look at some of the key events for Tuesday at the Summer Games.
