Simone Biles of the United States took gold in the women’s floor exercise on Tuesday, the final women’s gymnastics event at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Biles finished just ahead of Aly Raisman, who took the silver medal -- the same finishing spots for the two in the individual all-around. Amy Tinkler of Great Britain earned the bronze medal.
Olympic gymnastic results 2016: Simone Biles wins gold medal in women’s floor exercise
Biles had a dominant floor routine to earn the gold, with Aly Raisman just behind her earning silver.

When Tinkler put herself into first place with a score of 14.933, everyone knew she wasn’t safe. When Biles put up her routine, she didn’t falter once and managed a massive score of 15.966 for the lead. When Raisman went up, she completely crushed her routine, but a lower difficulty degree earned her a 15.500.
Biles also participated in the individual vault competition on Sunday and the balance beam competition on Monday. Biles earned a gold medal in the vault and was favored to win one on the beam, but she stumbled in her routine and had to grab onto the beam with her hands. Still, she ended up with the bronze despite that fault and was favored once again going into the floor exercise.
Raisman’s only individual event was the floor exercise on Tuesday, though she earned a silver medal in the individual all-around competition, just behind Biles, who took gold. Teammate Laurie Hernandez earned a silver medal on the balance beam on Monday while Madison Kocian earned a silver on the uneven bars on Sunday.
Danell Leyva of the men’s team earned a silver medal for the United States on the parallel bars Tuesday.
