The Minnesota Vikings have a good battle brewing at wide receiver. Unfortunately for Jarius Wright, he’s missed out on it for almost two weeks while dealing with an undisclosed leg injury.
Jarius Wright close to return from leg injury, fantasy value sinking
We break down the fantasy football impact of Jarius Wright’s leg injury, which has allowed other receivers to take his reps, and perhaps his job.

On Tuesday, Wright said he would return to practice soon, possibly in time to get in a preseason game or two of work. When healthy, Wright has been a decent option in the Vikings’ passing game, enough that the team gave him a nice extension in 2015.
Wright signed a four-year, $14.8 million contract extension last September that has him being the team’s highest-paid receiver in 2016. One would think that kind of commitment to a player would keep him in a big role in this offense.
However, with Minnesota drafting Laquon Treadwell in the first round this year and Charles Johnson emerging, Wright is falling behind in the wide receiver pecking order.
Fantasy Spin: Wright was vying for a starting spot before the injury, and even ran with the starters during spring workouts. If he can recover and get back to practice, it’s possible he still does before the regular season opens.
Until then, Wright is not worth a pick in your fantasy football drafts. He’s lost too much ground to other receivers to think he’ll be able to be a viable fantasy option in 2016.
