When the Seattle Seahawks drafted C.J. Prosise this offseason, many wondered if the former Notre Dame receiver/running back was primed for a big role as a rookie. Unfortunately, a hamstring injury has sidelined Prosise for most of training camp and the preseason.
C.J. Prosise to miss 2nd preseason game, fantasy value falling
We break down the fantasy implications of C.J. Prosise’s lingering hamstring injury.

After returning to practice Monday, Prosise has been ruled out of Seattle’s next preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings, according to KJR reporter Curtis Crabtree. Head coach Pete Carroll did say he expects Prosise to play next week in the all-important third preseason game.
It’s also worth noting that, following Monday’s return to practice, Prosise was seen having ice applied to his injured hamstring during Tuesday’s session. That could signal a setback, which would explain why he’s being held out for Thursday’s preseason matchup with Minnesota.
After missing most of the offseason workouts with a hip issue, Prosise has now missed enough time that some wonder if he’s on the roster bubble. I wouldn’t go that far, but Prosise is in danger of being the fourth-string back and never seeing the field as a rookie.
Fantasy Spin: With Prosise unable to get on the field, he remains irrelevant in fantasy football drafts. Prosise had a golden opportunity to earn a big role with Thomas Rawls still recovering from his injury, not to mention getting reps at wide receiver, but has been unable to take advantage of it.
Until he does, don’t consider Prosise in your fantasy drafts unless it’s as a late-round flier.
