Olympic track and field 2016 schedule: Usain Bolt races for 200-meter glory, Ashton Eaton closes out decathlon

Medals will also be handed out in the men’s 400-meter hurdles, men’s shot put, women’s javelin, men’s decathlon and women’s 400-meter hurdles on a busy Thursday in Rio.

Usain Bolt is already the only man to ever win three consecutive gold medals in the 100 meters. Now he’ll try to match that feat in the 200 at the 2016 Olympics. He’s the heavy favorite on Thursday night in Rio as he headlines a night full of medal events.

Bolt’s dominance in the 100 may be outdone by his abilities in the half-lap race. He owns the world record of 19.19 seconds -- and it’s the one event he doesn’t seem to take the time to celebrate in. Justin Gatlin won’t even be there to challenge him, as he failed to qualify for the finals by finishing ninth in the semis, but Canadian Andre De Grasse shouldn’t be overlooked.

Also on Thursday, Ashton Eaton will finish Day 2 of the decathlon -- the 10-event competition of speed, strength and endurance. He will have completed five events on Wednesday, and will close out what’s expected to be a second consecutive gold medal with the 1,500 meters.

Both 400-meter hurdles finals take place on Thursday, with the men competing in the morning session and the women racing in the evening. The men’s shot put and the women’s javelin headline the field events.

All events will be streaming live. Here’s a schedule of the events and how you can watch them:
