The 2016 Rio Olympics are nearing their end, and the closing ceremony is just hours away. Like the opening ceremony, the closing event is a celebration of the games, a cultural exhibition from the host country -- in this case, Brazil -- a ceremony to pass the Olympic flag on to the next host city and, of course, a whole lot of fun.

The closing ceremony is almost here, and here’s how you can watch it on Sunday.
Rio’s opening ceremony focused on environmental issues in its presentation, and it’s likely the closing ceremony will also have the same themes. The committee behind the ceremony is being silent about what to expect, however, and little is known about the actual performance other than that Kygo, a Norwegian electronic musician who partly grew up in Brazil, will be involved.
Simone Biles, winner of multiple gold medals for the United States, will carry the country’s flag at the closing ceremony. Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian in history, carried the flag in the opening ceremony. Brazilian soccer legend Pele said he hopes to be attending the closing ceremony after heath issues prevented him from participating in the opening ceremony.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. ET, but NBC will not carry it on television until an hour later. The live stream available via NBC Sports will also be delayed by an hour and will allow you to watch only 30 minutes without logging into a cable or satellite TV provider. Below is all you need to watch the festivities.
