After a strong push by season ticket holders, the Minnesota Wild will have a new goal song this year. In tribute to late singer Prince, who passed away back in April during the Wild’s playoff run, Minnesota will start the season with “Let’s Go Crazy” as their new goal song.

The Wild had extreme success with this song during their Prince tribute night in the playoffs. The song was practically made for being played in packed sports arenas, and it was well received by hockey fans alike when the Wild finally scored in their game against the Stars.
Goal songs change, and the Wild were in need of a new one after keeping Crowd Chant by Joe Satriani around for awhile. It’s a choice that seems almost unanimous to honor the Minnesota-born Prince.
