Philadelphia Eagles veteran running back Darren Sproles is expected to be a top receiving target for the team in 2016, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Zach Berman. New Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich told Berman that the team is constantly game planning ways to get the ball in Sproles’ hands during their meetings this preseason.
Darren Sproles expected to have a big receiving year, could boost his fantasy value
The Philadelphia running back could become one of the league’s top pass-catching running backs once again, we explore the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Reich’s comments, if they turn out to be true, could boost Sproles’ current ADP for 2016. Especially as a PPR running back, where Sproles’ current ADP has him being selected in the 11th round.
Berman pointed out that Reich was the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers last season when Chargers’ running back Danny Woodhead finished the year with 80 catches. Sproles has had three seasons of 70-plus receptions during his 10-year career, but none while in Philadelphia.
With a new offensive system that seems to be geared more toward getting the ball in his hands, Sproles could have one his best fantasy seasons in years. Fantasy owners should make sure to keep an eye out for the Eagles running back if he happens to still be on the board late in their draft.
