With an 8-4 victory over Kentucky on Thursday night, Tennessee has advanced to play for the United States championship of the 2016 Little League World Series.

Tennessee will play New York on Saturday to determine the U.S. champion, with the winner facing off on Sunday against the international champion. South Korea beat Mexico 7-0 on Thursday to advance to the international championship game, where they will battle Panama on Saturday.

Zach McWilliams hit a grand slam for Tennessee in a five-run fourth inning that gave them the lead they would not relinquish, a win for a group of kids in Goodlettsville, which is less than an hour away from their Thursday opponents from Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Tennessee on Saturday gets a rematch with New York, who beat them 3-1 on Monday.

Center fielder Seum Kwon hit two home runs in the win for South Korea on Thursday, and winning pitcher Sangheon Park struck out nine in his three scoreless innings.

South Korea has three shutout wins so far in this Little League World Series and on Saturday gets a rematch with Panama, who beat them 3-2 on Wednesday, the only runs that South Korea has allowed during the Little League World Series.

Friday is an off day at Williamsport, Penn., with the two championship games on Saturday, followed by the overall 2016 Little League World Series championship on Sunday.
