The Vikings’ new stadium is a beautiful place where football happens to be played

Sunday is the first time the Minnesota Vikings play at U.S. Bank Stadium, which, on the outside, looks like a dang spaceship, or Daft Punk’s new stage:

But it’s what’s inside that counts, and damn, it looks beautiful:

The LED screens are huge and clear for everyone (including the teams) to see. More than half of the roof is transparent, which is fantastic for daytime games — if you’re wondering if the stadium will suffer a Metrodome-like roof collapse during winter, they made sure that won’t happen again, as there’s a new snow melt system installed and the roofs are slanted.

TCF Bank Stadium served the Vikings well in the past two seasons, but there’s no doubt Vikings fans are stoked to be in a place like this.
