Washington running back Matt Jones is “progressing nicely,” according to the team’s Twitter account on Monday. The starting RB has been out since Aug. 19 with a shoulder injury he suffered in the team’s Week 2 meeting against the Jets. The Redskins will hold Jones out for the remainder of the preseason to get him ready for Week 1 of the regular season.
Matt Jones expected to return Week 1, fantasy value steady
Matt Jones is sitting for the remainder of the preseason to get ready for Week 1. We look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Spin:
Jones is going to work hard as the starter for Washington. Though he will get reps, Jones is no sure bet coming off injury. Also, Gruden is known as a quarterback coach, meaning Jones’ production will be limited compared to other starting backs in the league. Fantasy owners should consider Jones as a late-round RB2.
