There’s a guy who plays basketball with a donut-eating deer and it’s a beautiful friendship

You might be asking yourself, “Why is there a dude playing basketball with a deer?” Well, on July 28, Pennsylvanian teenager Kelvin Peña started an ongoing thread on his Twitter account, in which he introduced his followers to his new pet deer he named “Money.” The deer doesn’t run away in his initial video; instead, he eats the crackers Peña throws on the ground, and it’s actually, really adorable:

Peña then upgraded the food to Pringles:

Then powdered donuts:

And eventually, Money’s brought a whole squad of deer to his house for more donuts:

Knowing that he had to give the deer food that was much more healthy, he gave them strawberries:

Motherboard got to the bottom of how the deer suddenly became a part of Peña’s life, and well, it was pretty much all him:
When I phoned him up on Monday to ask him about those deer, he told me he’d never encountered one up-close before.
“I was like, I’m going to try to feed him,” Peña said. “Because usually deer just run away.”
As a result, Peña now has a collection of what might be the funniest videos of the year. Just the sight of a teen feeding deer powdered donuts like he’s Snow White — or as he puts it, “Dominican Snow White” — and playing basketball with one, reminiscent of that one time someone made a basketball dog look foolish. I really hope this friendship with Money the Deer never ends.
