Eddie Royal has resumed practicing with the Chicago Bears. After being cleared to come off the NFL’s concussion protocol, Royal returned to practice Monday and made it through Tuesday’s session without setback, according to Chicago Sun-Times reporter Patrick Finley.
Eddie Royal resumes practicing, fantasy value still low
We break down the fantasy implications of Eddie Royal continuing to practice as he works his way back from a concussion.
Indications are that Royal is ready for the regular season after missing four weeks due to a concussion suffered on Aug. 1. The 30-year-old veteran caught 37 passes for 238 yards and one score in nine games last year. That came after Royal caught 15 combined touchdowns from 2014-15 with the San Diego Chargers.
Fantasy Spin: With Kevin White and Alshon Jeffery holding down the boundary spots, Royal will remain the Bears’ slot receiver if he stays healthy. That could make him a waiver-wire add later this season in PPR leagues, but that is his ceiling in fantasy football. Do not bother spending a pick on him in your league’s fantasy draft.
