Louis Murphy will miss the start of the 2016 season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Tuesday that Murphy was placed on PUP, meaning he will miss the first six weeks of the regular season.
Louis Murphy placed on PUP list, has no fantasy value
Do not expect Louis Murphy to be worthy of fantasy football consideration this season.
Murphy is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Week 7 of the 2015 season. That kept him sidelined for all offseason workouts and training camp. Had he been healthy, Murphy would likely be the No. 3 receiver behind Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson.
By the time Murphy comes back now, Kenny Bell and Adam Humphries may have locked down the spots behind Jackson and Evans. Those latter two should get most of the targets in this offense.
Fantasy Spin: Murphy has had spurts of fantasy relevance throughout his career with the Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders, but injuries have slowly derailed his career. He may be someone to watch for later this season, but do not consider him in even deep dynasty drafts.
