The New York Giants will rest several starters in their final preseason game, but Victor Cruz is expected to play. In fact, the Giants want to see more out of Cruz in Thursday’s finale, according to ESPN reporter Jordan Raanan.
Victor Cruz to play vs. Patriots, fantasy value still low
We break down the fantasy implications of New York wanting to see more from Victor Cruz in the team’s final preseason game.
Cruz missed the first two preseason games with a groin injury before making his 2016 debut last week. Raanan adds that Cruz should play around 8-10 snaps Thursday after playing just 29 snaps last week. He is still working his way back from a torn patellar tendon in 2014, while a calf injury sidelined him in 2015.
The Giants are trying to determine how much Cruz should play when the regular season opens. He is battling rookie Sterling Shepard for the No. 2 receiver spot next to Odell Beckham Jr.
Fantasy Spin: Even if Cruz plays a lot Thursday, he cannot do much to help his fantasy stock. He has missed too much time to warrant even a late-round pick in your fantasy draft.
