Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll announced Wednesday that running back Thomas Rawls will start in the team’s Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Rawls backed up Christine Michael in the Seahawks’ opening win over the Miami Dolphins, rushing for just 32 yards on 12 carries. The sophomore RB battled an ankle injury in camp that the Seahawks elected to bring him back from cautiously. Despite the start, Rawls is still slated to share the rushing duties with Michael.

Fantasy Impact: Getting the start bodes well for Rawls and his fantasy owners. The undrafted free agent will have more upside now that he is slated to get more carries in the starting position. Still, Rawls’ Week 1 performance left a lot to be desired. And though Rawls will do the work, Michael may see the end zone more. Either way, the Seahawks face a favorable matchup against a division rival Rams squad that allowed three rushing touchdowns in Week 1. He is worth a look at RB2/flex this week.
