Atlanta Falcons starting running back Devonta Freeman (quad) was limited in practice Wednesday, according to Falcons beat writer Vaughn McClure. The third-year RB is dealing with an apparent quad injury. There is no word on when Freeman suffered the injury or how significant it maybe. The former Falcons’ workhorse had a rough outing in Week 1, rushing for just 20 yards on 11 carries. Freeman is sharing the load this season with Tevin Coleman in a run-by-committee Falcons backfield. He is expected to suit up for Atlanta’s Week 2 matchup against Oakland.

Fantasy Impact: Freeman’s injury is a big setback for a running back who shares carries in a run-by-committee system. His Week 1 performance was very dismal and now he could possibly lose his starting role to Coleman. Freeman’s stock seems to be dropping and owners should take note. If he can go Sunday in Oakland, Freeman may be worth a flex option at best.
