Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer announced on KFAN Monday that running back Adrian Peterson tore his meniscus in the team’s Week 2 division victory over Green Bay. Peterson got up from a short run late in the third quarter clutching his knee and struggled to put weight on his leg. He had to be helped off the field and did not return to the game. In the same radio interview, Zimmer did not completely rule out his seven-time Pro Bowl RB for Week 3 in Carolina. However, Yahoo NFL insider Charles Robinson reports that Peterson and the Vikings are considering two recovery options, partial repair surgery with a minimum four-week sit or full repair with a four-month sit.
