Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano announced Wednesday that wide receiver Donte Moncrief will miss four to six weeks with a fractured scapula, according to Colts’ beat writer George Bremer. Moncrief left Sunday’s Week 2 meeting against the Denver Broncos under the NFL’s concussion protocol in the second quarter. He did not return to the game. On Monday, the third-year WR had an MRI on his shoulder. Moncrief will not need surgery to repair the fracture, according to Colts’ beat writer Mike Chappell. The earliest Moncrief could return would be Week 7 to face the division rival Tennessee Titans.

Fantasy Impact: Moncrief going down is a big blow for the Colts and fantasy owners. Coming out of camp, Moncrief was thought to be the top WR for Indianapolis this season. The only silver lining for owners now is the 6’2, 222-pound wideout’s injury is not season-ending. His absence means the Colts will have to look to their 2015 first-round pick Phillip Dorsett to pick up the slack. Also, fantasy owners could see more action from tight end Dwayne Allen and Jack Doyle as they fill Moncrief’s size void.
