Fantasy implications of Terrelle Pryor potentially getting QB snaps

The Cleveland Browns might give Terrelle Pryor some QB snaps, which could boost his fantasy value.

The Cleveland Browns are a mess right now, with Cody Kessler set to play quarterback against the Miami Dolphins. ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting the Browns are considering giving wide receiver Terrelle Pryor limited snaps at quarterback. The team signed Charlie Whitehurst to serve as a backup following Josh McCown’s injury, but he would only be an option if Kessler was injured.

Fantasy implications: Considering the state of the Browns QB situation, Pryor was already getting some decent projections for this matchup. Yahoo! is projecting 5.3 receptions, 58.6 yards, and 0.4 touchdowns. ESPN is projecting 3.8 receptions, 63.1 yards and 0.4 touchdowns.

If Pryor gets some QB snaps, there is a chance for some passing yards, but more importantly, a chance for some rushing yards. That only adds to his value. The Browns are a big underdog against the Dolphins, and expectations are low, but if you are short a wide receiver or flex option this week, you could do worse than Pryor. The added passing and rushing bonuses only boost his value. Well, so long as he doesn’t throw an interception!
