Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was sidelined by the team after suffering a left leg injury, although he did return to the game after missing one play. With a big lead over the San Francisco 49ers, there wasn’t much need to put Wilson in for more risk of taking punishment. According to The MMQB's Albert Breer, the Seahawks believe Russell has a sprained MCL. Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio said on the Sunday Night Football pregame show that an MRI is scheduled.
Seahawks shut down Russell Wilson after a left leg injury
Russell Wilson was reportedly begging to go back in, but the Seahawks didn’t think it was worth the risk.

Wilson was optimistic after the game, saying “I don’t think it’s severe as it looked. I have good mobility. You always feel better when you win.”
Wilson has been dealing with a right ankle sprain but was injured on Sunday when 49ers linebacker Eli Harold pulled him down and landed on his left leg. The hit caused both Wilson’s ankle and knee to bend at an awkward angle, and Wilson was replaced in the game by Trevone Boykin.
While Wilson returned to action shortly thereafter, the Seahawks decided to shut him down for the game. The FOX broadcast said that he was asking the team to let him go back in, however.
Boykin, an undrafted rookie, did fine in Wilson’s absence. With a big lead, Boykin wasn’t asked to do much but still efficiently led the Seahawks down the field and even found Doug Baldwin for a 16-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
Wilson left the game 15-of-23 passing for 243 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.
