In honor of Buffalo’s upcoming game against the New England Patriots this week, Bills coach Rex Ryan did his best Bill Belichick impression for reporters on Monday.

Ryan is feeling confident heading into this week’s game against New England after Buffalo’s big win over the Cardinals.

“All right, we’re going to start with the injury report. You’ll get it on Wednesday,” Ryan mumbled at the podium, sounding eerily like the Patriots head coach. “Simple as that. When we’ve got to turn it in.”

Belichick famously refuses to give any details about injuries and keeps information about players’ statuses for game days close to the vest until the last possible second. As a matter of fact, the only reason we can assume that either Jimmy Garoppolo or Jacoby Brissett will start this week is because the Patriots are reportedly not going to sign another quarterback to the roster.
Ryan, whose Bills are coming off of a 33-18 upset win over the Arizona Cardinals, might be feeling a little cocky heading into this game against Belichick and the Patriots. The Bills intercepted four of Carson Palmer’s passes and sacked him five times, so there’s a reason for Ryan’s confidence.
“Look, I could sit back and say I don’t care who plays quarterback because I know [Tom] Brady ain’t,” Ryan said Sunday. “I said I don’t care who plays quarterback. Steve Grogan can play quarterback.
“If Belichick’s playing quarterback, we’re coming after him. I promise you that.”
On Monday, however, after getting through his Belichick impersonation, Ryan quickly changed his tune and praised the Patriots.
“The Patriots are the standard of the league, 3-0 without Brady against good teams,” Ryan said. “My admiration is for Belichick more than anything.”
It was probably a wise move for Ryan, who has an all-time record of 4-11 against Belichick. Making Bill Belichick angry right before your team has to play his Patriots seems like a bad idea.
