A Filipino player gets to go to Stephen Curry’s basketball camp after blocking his 3-pointer

Whenever Stephen Curry shoots a three, it usually goes in. That’s the law of the universe that wrought his ridiculous season last year. Not so much during a scrimmage on Tuesday in Taiwan. Gian Mamuyac, who plays for the Philippines’ U-17 national team, managed to block Curry’s potential buzzer-beating three. It took everyone by surprise, including Curry, who ultimately took it in stride and gave Mamuyac props.
Later on, someone asked Curry to re-do the shot (as clarified by this fan), so he could actually make the three, which meant Mamuyac deliberately defended him with less effort:
Uhm, so Steph asked for a replay of the last 5 secs haha then @mamuinthesea just put up both hands and SPLASH pic.twitter.com/fvQvNKmjIl

Mamuyac ended up as the MVP of the scrimmage, and for his efforts, he won a trip to Curry’s basketball camp.
But he goes home a winner! Gian Mamuyac @mamuinthesea is the MVP of Steph Curry in Taiwan! #REPRESENT pic.twitter.com/VBvNk3oNmL

This is one of those moments that reminds you Curry’s just as human as the rest of us, and that the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the 2016 NBA Finals.
