The Atlanta Falcons started their eighth straight game with a touchdown Sunday, carving through the Green Bay Packers secondary to take an early 7-0 lead. The capper? Matt Ryan’s ability to turn a broken play into points with a dynamic flip pass to Mohamed Sanu.
Matt Ryan finished Falcons’ opening drive with beautiful flip pass touchdown
Just the way Dan Quinn drew it up, probably.
Ryan, facing third-and-goal from the Green Bay 3-yard line, appeared stuck after escaping the Packer pass rush in the pocket. He looked like he might run the ball into the end zone himself, but found a streaking Sanu cutting across the goal line to give Atlanta the advantage just 6:36 into the game.
Ryan completed six of his first eight passes — including one Taylor Gabriel drop — for 68 yards to prove he’s kept his MVP-esque form during the Falcons’ deep run into the playoffs. Atlanta is 8-1 this season when scoring first.
