Robert Alford gave a gloriously hammy flop after Aaron Rodgers nudged him

Aaron Rodgers is way, way stronger than we thought.

Aaron Rodgers isn’t very happy to be getting blown out by the Falcons. Unfortunately for Atlanta cornerback Robert Alford, he took it out on the fourth-year veteran’s face.

Rodgers was called for a rare offensive facemask penalty after ripping Alford’s helmet from his head late in Sunday’s NFC Championship. Alford had just forced the two-time MVP out of bounds when Rodgers dug his hand into his would-be tackler’s facemask and separated it from his shoulders.

The Packers quarterback was blasted with a 15-yard penalty for his infraction. If Alford had his way, it would have been even more -- he unleashed a Materazzi-esque flop after Rodgers shrugged his way past him on the sideline after the play.

Alford may have been a bit shaken by the incident, as he was called for pass interference in the end zone on the ensuing play. The foul gave Green Bay the latitude to score a touchdown seconds later, cutting the Atlanta lead to just 22 points late in the fourth quarter.
