Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones was arrested early Tuesday morning for three misdemeanors, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer. A felony charge of harassment with a bodily substance was later applied to Jones, also. Jones was scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. ET Tuesday, and the judge set his bond at $37,500.
Adam Jones arrested for 3 misdemeanors and felony harassment with a bodily substance
A judge has set Jones’ bond at $37,500.

The misdemeanor charges Jones faces are assault, disorderly conduct, and obstructing official business. Those charges allege Jones assaulted a man by “pushing and poking” him in the eye. Cincinnati police later added complaints, saying Jones refused to stop when ordered. Police said Jones would not get into the police car and tried to kick and headbutt them.
The felony charge was subsequent to his initial arrest, after an altercation between Jones and employees at the jail resulted in Jones spitting on a nurse and a sheriff’s deputy.
Jones was arrested near The Banks, a mixed-use development project that includes retail and dining that is situated between the Bengals’ Paul Brown Stadium and the Cincinnati Reds’ Great American Ball Park.
This isn’t Jones’ first arrest, but it is the first in some time. Jones’ last run-in with law enforcement was in 2013, when he was arrested for assault. He was found not guilty of that charge. In 2011, Jones was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Jones pled guilty to the disorderly conduct charge, and the resisting arrest charge was dropped.
Jones’ first arrest of his NFL career came in 2005, with a misdemeanor assault and a felony vandalism charge. He also found himself in trouble for violating the probation associated with those charges.
He entered the league on probation for a bar fight in college, and he has been suspended by the NFL following an altercation with a bodyguard in a Dallas hotel and also for his role in a shooting in a Las Vegas nightclub.
Jones signed a three-year, $22 million contract with the Bengals prior to the 2016 season. He played in all 16 games for Cincinnati this season, racking up 66 tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery.
