The Oakland Raiders came into Saturday’s game hurt, with injuries to quarterback Derek Carr and offensive tackle Donald Penn, and things didn’t get any better for them against the Texans.
Raiders’ injuries are piling up at the worst possible time
Just make it stop.

First, Carr was inactive because of a broken leg that he suffered against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 16. The following week, Penn injured his knee and was ruled out for the wild ward game vs. the Texans as well.
Linebacker Malcolm Smith, one of their veteran leaders on the defensive side of the ball, injured his hamstring, and the Raiders ruled him as questionable to return as a result.
Their center, Rodney Hudson, played throughout the first half, but was hurt on their final offensive play before halftime. He would return midway through the third quarter, after going through some drills on the sideline.
In the fourth quarter, Michael Crabtree was taken to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion. The Raiders ruled him out for the rest of the game late in the fourth quarter.
The Raiders are already shorthanded, and they really can’t afford any more injuries if they want to compete.
