The Colts and the Seahawks both came into their Sunday Night Football matchup with just one win. In what turned out to be a pretty decent game, the Seahawks ran away with it in the second half to pull off a hard-fought 46-18 win.
4 winners and 2 losers from Seahawks’ 46-18 win over the Colts
The game got more interesting in the second half, and the Seahawks got the win.

There were four turnovers, two defensive touchdowns, and the Colts somehow took a 15-10 lead into the half. The second half had a lot more action, with Seattle scoring 36 points and holding the Colts to a single field goal.
Winner: this Colts bank heist celebration
We’re all about fun touchdown celebrations, and this one fits the bill. Everyone has a job, from throwing the cash in a bag to driving the getaway car. Jack Mewhort even took the time to kick the door of the safe closed.
Winner: Seattle’s opportunistic defense
The Seahawks defense was a huge factor in the win, holding the Colts to just three points in the second half. They ran both of Brissett’s turnovers back for touchdowns, which helped put the game away.
Seattle also held Brissett to 197 passing yards, and allowed just 98 rushing yards. That is much better than its average of 146 yards per game, which had it ranked No. 29 in the league coming into this game.
Winner: The Seahawks offense
They’ve looked off over the first few games, in part because of inconsistent offensive line play. But Seattle’s offense looked solid against Indianapolis. Russell Wilson was able to throw for 295 yards and two touchdowns, and Seattle racked up nearly 194 rushing yards.
Wilson was still sacked three times in the win, including a safety early in the game, but he was able to shake it off and keep the offense rolling.
Winner: Malik Hooker
Okay, they didn’t win the game, but Indianapolis came into the season with a glaring need to improve on that side of the ball. Their first-round draft pick, Malik Hooker, looks as good as advertised.
Matthias Farley picked off Russell Wilson in the first half, and Hooker snagged his third career interception later in the game. Hooker is the first safety since Earl Thomas and Nate Allen back in 2010 to have three picks in their first four games, according to our Adam Stites.
Hooker followed his pick up with a sick stiff arm.
Loser: Jacoby Brissett’s mistakes
Jacoby Brissett’s miscues caught up with the Colts. Brissett actually shook off his first pick and bounced back to lead two touchdown drives to give Indianapolis a lead before the half. But a fumble in the second half was returned for another Seattle touchdown and helped the Seahawks put the game away.
The Seahawks scored 22 points in the third quarter while the Colts were only able to rack up 11 total yards.
Loser: The Colts defense
They allowed 489 total yards to the Seahawks, and the Seahawks offense was able to get into the end zone four times. While the pass defense shows some promise, especially with Hooker on the field, a Seahawks team that has looked shaky throughout this season was able to completely dismantle the Colts.
