Marshawn Lynch watched the Raiders’ thrilling win vs. Chiefs from stands after ejection

Marshawn Lynch was ejected from what became the Raiders’ thrilling victory over the Chiefs after shoving an official. Lynch then watched the rest of the game from the stands as his team pulled off the win on an untimed down.

Not a bad way to spend time if you’re going to be kicked out of the game. He returned through the tunnel to watch the final seconds of the game on TV:

And then he rode the Bay Area commuter train home.

He was joined by his friend and fellow Oakland native, Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters. Raiders fans let Peters have it on the train, and Lynch had some fun with that, too.

Lynch came out onto the field after a scuffle started between the two teams. Marcus Peters got a late hit on Derek Carr, and the Raiders’ offensive line predictably went to protect their quarterback, causing the scrum.

That’s when Lynch came out, to help break up the madness. Aside from defending his teammates, Lynch wanted to protect Peters, who is also an Oakland native that Lynch has been a mentor to. But he made contact with an official, which is a no-no.

Lynch’s actions could be costly, as you might imagine. ESPN’s Kevin Seifert provided a good rundown of what he’s looking at:

Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch could be looking at a loss of more than $100,000 for that ridiculous display. First, Lynch is subject to a minimum fine of $30,387 for making contact with an official during that melee. That he came off the bench to join the fight makes him a candidate to be suspended, as well. That would cost him a game check of $79,411.

Surely this is a game that Lynch would have preferred to be in, but there was no way he was just going to bail on his team like that.

Lynch made a rash decision that he likely regrets, but watching from the stands with your family is a good way to go.
