Jay Cutler leaves Dolphins game vs. Jets with chest injury

Dolphins fans are finally getting “Moore.”

Jay Cutler left the Dolphins’ game against the Jets on Sunday with a chest injury. Cutler was taken to the medical tent before heading for the locker room.

The fear is that the quarterback suffered at least a couple cracked ribs, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and the team will have Cutler undergo an X-ray to find out. If he did, he’ll likely miss two or three games.

Cutler was replaced with Matt Moore. Prior to his injury, Cutler completed 12 of 16 attempts for 138 yards and two touchdowns against one interception.

What does this mean for the Dolphins? Quarterback hasn’t been a strong point for the Dolphins this season. After Ryan Tannehill was lost for the season due to injury, they got Cutler to put his broadcasting career on hold to replace him. Moore has been with the Dolphins since 2011 and has always seemed ever so close to being their starter, but it never works out.

The Dolphins have no other choice on Sunday, though. Moore was 2-1 in his three starts with the Dolphins last season. He has yet to see time in the 2017 season but has proven to be one of the better backups in the NFL.
